On March 26th, SEFTIM organizes in its premises a IEC workgroup meeting aiming at defining protection rules for people in and outside buildings, including storms detectors as a prevention mean.

SEFTIM attended the international IEC meeting in Nice of the lightning protection group of the electrical installation committee aiming at revising the application and choice documents in order to update the surge protector guide 15-443 of NFC 15-100.

On January 25th 2012 SEFTIM took part in a IEC standard meeting in Geneva aiming at harmonizing standards for protection means.

On December 1st, SEFTIM took part in the 2011 APF meeting and presented a study carried out on behalf of NFPA in the USA on the flexible gas lines lightning resistance.

Seftim participate to the conference ILPS 2011 in Valencia and introduce a paper on lighting earthing system.

SEFTIM support, throught the Lightning commission China Meteorological Society, the organisation of a workshop on novelty on lightning protection standardization in China in Shenzhen where the photovoltaics protection has been more particulary discussed.
This workshop attract 100 peoples come from all over china and also the world leaders of surge protection, enable to show standardisation progress in lightning arrester, the way remaining to stride and the disagreement between various standard (in particular CEI and UL) and the global convergence of all these texts in near futur.
Seftim introduce the lightning protection interest thanks to two ports lightning arrester (serial lightning arrester).

SEFTIM participate to the XIth SIPDA Conference about lightning in Fortaleza (Brazil) from the 3rd to the 7th october with a publication about choicises, tests abd applications of lightning strikes counter.

SEFTIM took part to the surge protectors and lightning conductors standardization committee works around 2 major questions : -Lightning protection systems components and - facilities internal protection (armour-plating, surge protectors,...). The committee gathered in Kerry (Ireland).

During the BICSI Conference (Orlando, United-States), SEFTIM gave a training on earths within telecommunication networks.

Alain Rousseau received in the name of SEFTIM the Centenary Diploma from the UTE.

SEFTIM attended the NATO’s DDESB conference on explosives in July (Portland, United States). SEFTIM gave a lecture on lightning protection of explosives depots.

SEFTIM joined the French delegation to take part to the lightning conductors globalization committee, taking place in Stockholm, Sweden.

SEFTIM took part to a lightning training in Anglet.

In the evening of June 17th, SEFTIM gave a lecture to the Lower-Rhine electricians corporate body.

On April 29th-30th, SEFTIM, within the French delegation, took part to the lightning conductors electrical installation rules meeting in Sweden.

SEFTIM thanks to its activities in photovoltaïcs domain appear in the first directory of french photovoltaics groups created by SOLER, french organization of professionals for photovoltaics solar, to appear as sole research consultancy for lightning studies related to photovoltaics.

From February 22nd to 26th took place in Ljubljana a meeting on Lightning Protection Standards. Alain Rousseau - SEFTIM General Manager - took part in the working group.

In September 2009 took place in Chongqing, China a 3-days International Forum on Lightning Protection and Disaster Mitigation.
